What sets this seven-year-old city apart? About 50 minutes later, my colleagues and I reached Xiong'an, Hebei Province, from Beijing. XIONG'AN, Hebei, April 1 (Xinhua) -- Shaped like a dew drop on a lotus leaf, Xiong'an Railway Station stands as an architectural marvel to many. What is extraordinary is that this station can generate power on its own. In April 2017, China announced a plan to establish the Xiong'an New Area, which spans the Rongcheng, Anxin and Xiongxian counties, as well as some adjacent areas in north China's Hebei Province.

Key achievements have been made in implementing a package of measures rolled out by central policymakers last year to support the high-standard and high-quality construction of Xiong'an New Area in Hebei province, local authorities said."Currently, the package of targeted support measures has been fully implemented in Xiong'an, and important phased achievements have been made in various tasks," Ding Xiaolong, a member of Xiong'an's Communist Party of China Work Committee and deputy director-general of the area's administrative committee, said at a news conference about the measures on Wednesday.According to Ding, the achievements include progress in the transfer of non-capital city functions from Beijing to the area, life and work guarantees for relocated personnel from Beijing, and scientific and technological innovation.

In April 2017, China announced a plan to establish the Xiong'an New Area, which spans the Rongcheng, Anxin and Xiongxian counties, as well as some adjacent areas in north China's Hebei Province. The new area aims to relieve Beijing of non-essential functions related to its status as the nation's capital, while also advancing the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

SHIJIAZHUANG, Feb. 24 (Xinhua) -- On Saturday, a truck carrying 150,000 piezoelectric quartzs left the comprehensive bonded zone of the Xiong'an New Area in north China's Hebei Province, marking the first export business conducted by the zone. This export business marks the start of regular operations in the comprehensive bonded zone, said Wang Lei, deputy head of Xiong'an Customs.
