  XIONG'AN, Hebei Province, June 27 (Xinhua) -- A conference on the practice of the Xiong'an New Area in north China's Hebei Province was held on Thursday, gathering more than 230 leaders and representatives of political parties from nearly 40 countries. Themed "A Millennium Prospect for the Coordinated Development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region," the conference shared Xiong'an's achievements in practicing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. The event was co-hosted by the International Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, the CPC Hebei Provincial Committee, and the Party Work Committee of the Xiong'an New Area.

Self-driving test made on Beijing-Xiong'an expressway

  SHIJIAZHUANG, May 30 (Xinhua) -- An autonomous driving test demonstration project was launched on an expressway linking Beijing with the Xiong'an New Area of Hebei Province on Wednesday. The Beijing-Xiong'an expressway is an important artery connecting Beijing and the Xiong'an New Area. At present, a total of 108 km of autonomous driving lanes have been designated on the main line of the expressway, with intelligent perception and communication equipment installed to supervise and monitor its operation.

Xiong'an New Area introduces high-end talent

  SHIJIAZHUANG, May 15 (Xinhua) -- Authorities of Xiong'an New Area in north China's Hebei Province have introduced favorable policies to attract high-end talent. A total of 37 jobs at 16 enterprises and institutions, including chief technology officer, trade negotiator, AI technology expert, chief scientist, chief investment officer and medical expert, are on the job list. Job incentives of 50 to 100 percent of the salary paid by the employers will be offered to address the talent shortage and assist scientific research institutes and major innovation platforms in Xiong'an in attracting industry leaders, local officials said.

Policies yield key results in Xiong'an

  Key achievements have been made in implementing a package of measures rolled out by central policymakers last year to support the high-standard and high-quality construction of Xiong'an New Area in Hebei province, local authorities said."Currently, the package of targeted support measures has been fully implemented in Xiong'an, and important phased achievements have been made in various tasks," Ding Xiaolong, a member of Xiong'an's Communist Party of China Work Committee and deputy director-general of the area's administrative committee, said at a news conference about the measures on Wednesday.According to Ding, the achievements include progress in the transfer of non-capital city functions from Beijing to the area, life and work guarantees for relocated personnel from Beijing, and scientific and technological innovation.
